How the integration works

Cortex on Akamai, shards across Akamai regions

Applications write over standard S3 to Cortex running on Akamai compute. At write time each object is encrypted, erasure-coded two-of-four across four Akamai regions (US-East, US-West, EU, AP), and its keys are split with Shamir Secret Sharing. No single Akamai region holds reconstructable data, and losing up to two regions still serves reads and writes.

Cross-region resilience

Akamai object buckets are single-region. Myota spreads across regions, so a region loss is a non-event.

Ransom immunity

Object Lock prevents deletion; Myota prevents comprehension. Credentials can’t reconstruct data below quorum.

No application changes

Standard S3 in and out. Cross-region distribution replaces replication jobs and their egress.

AI and RAG data protection

Protects the stored embeddings, vectors, and RAG corpora, complementing Akamai’s query-path defenses.
